Organizers of the Fifth Annual Gala for the New Children’s Museum (NCM) Downtown are inviting guests to “get trashed,” but not in the alcoholic sense.
The gala, inspired by the museum’s current exhibition “Trash,” will be celebrating the things we throw away and how we turn rubbish into resources.
The theme’s focus will be on eco couture, zero waste, urban agriculture and organic fare as the NCM embraces all approaches of transformation, and promise an evening of music, wine, cuisine and art.
NCM is encouraging attendees to wear trash or their own eco couture. Fashion Design students from The Art Institute of California will be on hand with ten original outfits they have designed completely from recycled materials.
Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m. at NCM, located at 200 West Island Avenue, Downtown. Following cocktails and a silent auction will be dinner, a live paddle auction, lots of eco art, entertainment, and dancing, all to keep the trashy fun flowing until midnight.
Fox 5 News meteorologist Chrissy Russo will Emcee and CREW (a STOMP-inspired performance group) will perform.
