Grossmont, Helix tackle new varsity football seasons

With summer days winding down, the start of a new scholastic football season is upon us.

Both Grossmont and Helix will kick off their respective varsity football seasons this evening (Aug. 23).

Helix, which went 9-2 overall and 4-1 in Grossmont-Hills League play a season ago, opens up play at home Friday at 7 p.m. versus El Camino High.

Grossmont, finishing 7-6 overall and 2-3 in Grossmont Hills League play last year, kicks off its 2024 campaign Friday night with a home date versus Patrick Henry High School.
