The new year continues to bring growth to our Crusaders Soccer Club Competitive and Recreational programs.
Victor Melendez, our Director of Coaching, stated “Because of our continued team expansion, we have hired an additional nine highly qualified coaches. As part of our on-going training for competitive players, our weekly extracurricular Friday volunteer training sessions for all competitive field and goalkeeper players born between 2016 and 2011 begins on Friday, Jan. 10. This is an additional training session for players to hone their skills.
“The final opportunity for our 2024/25 competitive teams to show their skills is the SOCAL State Cup tournament for teams from throughout Southern California. For teams playing 7v7, the tournament begins on Jan. 25, on Feb. 1 for teams playing 9v9 and Feb. 22 for teams playing 11v11.”
In February, Crusaders Soccer will conduct tryouts for our 2025 competitive teams for players born in 2016 through 2011.
For more information and to register for tryouts, go to crusaderssoccer.org/tryouts.
Tryouts for high school aged players will be in April following the high school soccer season. We are also looking for players born in 2017 through 2019 to consolidate our 2025 Competitive Academy and Elite teams. For more information about these teams, email Victor Melendez at [email protected].
Modesto Guariniello, our Director of recreational soccer commented “My first three months with Crusaders has been very rewarding working with the Division Coordinators to enhance the recreational program and helping the 11 Pre-Competitive All-Star teams which completed their season at the Escondido 2025 New Year’s Kick-Off Tournament the first weekend of January. Congratulations to our Boys 2015/16 Pre-Competitive team coached by Adam Sonney for winning their division (see photo at top), and to the Boys 2017/18 team coached por Clay Adams and Andy Smith for being finalists in their division for the 2025 New Year’s Kick-Off Tournament.
“I am looking forward to working with our volunteer recreational coaches throughout the season. I will be conducting monthly coaching clinics to provide our coaches with techniques to help them continually improve their team.”
Registration for our 2025 recreational spring program is now open through Jan. 31 for all boys and girls born between 2021 and 2011.
Ir a crusaderssoccer.org/rec-registration for more information and, to register a player for our recreational spring season which begins on Sunday, March 2 and ends on Sunday, April 27. We will play eight games with no games on Easter Sunday.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the soccer field this year.
