DEBE IR Cloud Gate 2 will make its San Diego debut on Feb. 22 at the Mandeville Auditorium, located on the UCSD campus at 9500 Gilman Drive. Choreographer Lin Hwai-min founded the original Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan in 1973. Years later, the East-meets-West dance theatre, Cloud Gate 2, will showcase a hybrid of Asian gestures, martial arts-inspired leaps and modern dance in its first-ever San Diego performance. For the upcoming show, Cloud Gate 2 will perform a range of works from Taiwan’s up-and-coming Generation Y. The performance will take place at 8 p.m. with an optional pre-performance community dinner at 6 p.m. ArtTalks will give guests the opportunity to chat with the artists and performers in a free post-performance event.
