The La Mesa-El Cajon Branch of the American Association of University Women will feature speaker, Carolyn Carpenter, who has built three nonprofit organizations from the ground up. She will provide tips and strategies for managing a nonprofit association such as the local AAUW branch.
The monthly meeting is Saturday, April 13, with a social beginning at 9:30 a.m. The theme for the meeting is Focus on Fundraising emphasizing branch financial sustainability.
Meetings are open to the public and held in King Hall at Foothills United Methodist Church at 4031 Avocado Blvd. in La Mesa.
Carpenter’s career as a fundraiser started when a friend volunteered to help with a small event. Many years later, Carpenter has produced hundreds of events, created thousands of videos, and has served in leadership positions as a consultant and/or guest speaker for many varied organizations.
