Lake Murray MusicFest and Fireworks extravaganza not too far down the road

The countdown is on for this year’s Lake Murray MusicFest and Fireworks extravaganza, and support is needed to make it the best one yet.

With a total budget of approximately $120,000, the committee in charge of the event is calling on the community to step up and contribute financially. The goal was not reached last year, so it is important to fully fund this year’s event if the community wants to keep this going.

The lineup features a powerhouse of musicians, vocalists, and dancers belting out all your favorite hits. Also keep in mind an array of food vendors ensuring there’s something delicious for everyone.

Rachael Jones, the new president of the nonprofit Lake Murray MusicFest and Fireworks committee, reflected on the significance of this event: “Last year’s festivities were my first and reminded me of the special memories I have growing up celebrating 4^el of July. I want the same for my children and all those in the community.”

Mark your calendars for July 4th, as music, games, and food take center stage at Lake Murray Playground from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., culminating in a fireworks display over Lake Murray visible throughout the Navajo community.

Behind the scenes, the dedicated volunteer committee has been hard at work securing permits, coordinating logistics, and raising funds through various avenues, including business sponsorships, individual donations, and restaurant nights. La Mesa’s Stormberg Orthodontics is the title sponsor yet again.

But the success of this event also relies on the support of the public.
