The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce recientemente produced the 15th annual Salute to Local Heroes dinner. This special night entitled “Top Hat & Tails” was a high energy evening and vibrant community celebration. The event was held in the Heritage Ballroom of the Sycuan Casino Resort in El Cajon.
Excitement was in the air as guests entered the Heritage Ballroom to celebrate this year’s chosen heroes. In addition to honoring these heroes, the chamber was proud to celebrate the 30el anniversary of the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) program that impacts the safety and well-being of La Mesa residents.
This year’s heroes that were honored were: American Medical Response – Paramedic Bryan Earley, Paramedic Saul Enciso and EMT Jordan Ratty, Heartland Fire & Rescue – Fire Engineer Steve Harris, Heartland Communications Facility Authority–Fire Communications Supervisor Shannon Hays Calderon, La Mesa Police Department –Detective James Sampugnaro, Officer Alex Ohlendorf and Community Service Officer Nora Allsberry.
