A number of college students with ties to the Mensajero de La Mesa y Mensajero de Mission Times circulation areas garnered academic and athletic highlights recently.
Incluyen:
* George Reinig and Jack Reinig of San Diego were named to the Presidents List at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
* Leah Kundle of La Mesa was named to the University of Alabama Presidents List for the spring semester.
* Jake Molinar of La Mesa was named to the Abilene Christian University (Texas) spring 2024 Dean’s Honor Roll. He is a sophomore majoring in finance.
* Harmony Serban of San Diego was named to the spring 2024 Dean’s List at Fort Lewis College (Colorado).
* Several local students made the University of Maryland Global Campus Dean’s List for the spring semester. They are Samuel Anderson, Denisse Gonzalez and Erin Salcedo.
* Patrick Henry High School graduate Gracye Miller, a member of the Linfield University (Oregon) lacrosse team, was named to the 2024 Womens Lacrosse All-Northwest Conference Team, honorable mention.
* Several students from this area were named to the Southern New Hampshire University Presidents List for the winter term. They are Iyahna Vance, Jorge Getz-Garcia, Michelle Drake, Brianne Lightbody and Gregory Allsup.
* El seguimiento local students were named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year: Joe Holenstein of La Mesa, who is in the mechanical engineering program; Meakalia Gilman of La Mesa, who is in the new media interactive development program.
* James Mcdaid of San Diego graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BS in computer engineering.
