Lululemon in La Jolla Village, an active sportswear shop, is reopening on Dec. 16 after being closed during a seven-week renovation.
In the last week of October, Lululemon closed its doors for an updated renovation of its first San Diego store location at 7835 Girard Ave. which has been open since 2009. The last time the store was renovated was in 2016. Lululemon also has a store location in UTC Mall.
During the opening weekend of Dec. 16-17, guests can expect to see a newly renovated space, an eager staff ready to assist with holiday shopping needs, and a surprise gift with purchases and goodies and refreshments from businesses and local vendors while they last. The store will be open 9 a.m.- 8 p.m on Dec. 16, and 9 a.m.-7 p.m. on Dec. 17.
“Our team has been working hard starting the beginning of December to prep product and merchandise the store before re-opening back up to the public,” said Connie Hanna, assistant manager of operations for Lululemon. “We are so excited to welcome the San Diego community back to our upgraded space.”
Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada in 1998, the first Lululemon Athletica shared its retail space with a yoga studio. The company has been growing, evolving, and expanding ever since. Its technical yoga, activewear, and run clothes are now available in countries worldwide.
The company’s mission statement calls for creating components for people to live longer, healthier lives. All Lululemon locations have strong ties to local communities.
Of the store’s recent renovation, Hanna said: “We just gave everything an upgrade reworking the entire store with updated hardware, lighting, and fixtures. We also increased our public spaces making our sitting rooms larger and backlighting all the men’s and women’s walls, so everything will be highlighted in a much more elevated way. Our La Jolla location has so much character and charm to it.”
Hanna said the company specializes in athletic and run-specific items for working out on a daily or weekly basis. “We have something for everybody, and we’re dipping more now into more casual men’s and women’s lines for every day, or work or on the golf course,” she said, adding that Lululemon has also raised the bar with its line of men’s button-down shirts.
Lululemon has also hit it out of the park with its new bodywear collection called Wundermost, featuring its softest fabric yet: double-layered ultra-soft Nulu, a luxurious form-fitting material delivering comfort without compression caressing curves with just the right amount of stretch.
“It’s fabric technology with a lot of functional features to support anybody in their fitness journey,” pointed out Hanna who added the main purpose of their re-opening weekend is to “have our locals come and visit and let them know we’re opening back up for the holiday season going into the new year with our new renovated space.”
