If you’ve been searching for a unique breakfast restaurant where you can get something besides two eggs, hash browns and toast, the Mission Valley Breakfast Company is here to your rescue.
From the culinary prowess of Johan Engman, the mastermind behind Breakfast Republic, the Fig Tree Cafe, and Eggies, comes his latest venture.
This welcoming restaurant with eclectic and hip decor is inviting and cozy. Seating is spaced out allowing comfortable conversations without feeling crowded. This open-air concept, indoor/outdoor restaurant features a mixture of industrial, traditional, and eclectic furniture styles. Check out the Wild Art wall in the back.
“We’ve been open for a month and are getting great response,” said manager Zach Werne. “People like to try our different menu items.” The staff are happy and helpful and offer great suggestions. Happy staff equals happy customers.
There’s something on the menu for everyone- including the gluten-free or vegan crowd.
They take a regular American breakfast item and put a spin on it.
For example, Mashed Potato Waffles, Fried Rice Benedict, or Churro French Toast. For those familiar with latkes, try the Potato Rosti (similar to a large latke) with tasty sauce and sliced salmon, and an egg. Truly tasty.
Sweet-toothed diners have a plethora of menu items. The coffee cake is topped with cheesecake and sugar glaze and served with a side of rhubarb jam. Peach Almond French Toast or Crème Brûlée French Toast should kill the sweet cravings.
If you enjoy a morning Brunch cocktail, they offer many with the Bloody Mary’s looking exceptionally inviting. If coffee is your thing, they offer a variety of lattes, nitro cold brews, and espressos.
Every month they will offer a different special.
This month’s special is a Japanese Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Jammed in a Brioche bun you’ll find an egg, a fried chicken thigh, togarashi (a spicy assortment of dried chili peppers and other spices and orange peel), and a pickled cucumber salad.
Go and enjoy a culinary journey at this new restaurant in the Rio Vista Shopping Center located at 8590 Rio San Diego Drive. They’re open daily from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
