Hello Kitty Truck visits Fashion Valley
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is on the road for its 2025 U.S. tour, bringing exclusive treats and collectibles to Hello Kitty fans across the nation.
HKCT will head to Fashion Valley (near Bloomingdales & Forever 21) this Saturday (Jan. 25) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The location is 7007 Friars Rd, San Diego.
The iconic all-pink Hello Kitty Cafe Truck is celebrating two major milestones: Hello Kitty’s
50th Anniversary and the truck’s 10th anniversary.
Fans can expect brand-new treats and limited-edition merchandise, including:
• 50th Anniversary Exclusives: Iridescent totes and hoodies
• Apparel: Ringer tees and lilac tees
• Collectibles: Ceramic mugs, thermal bottles, 10th Anniversary keychains, pins, and cup ornaments

LA fire donation drive
Mission Valley mall is proud to partner with World Vision, a global humanitarian organization, to support Los Angeles fire victims on Friday, Jan. 17, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot in front of Village Shops (Jared’s, Chipotle, and Corner Bakery). World Vision will have a truck on-site to collect donations, which will be directly transported to LA relief centers. The community is encouraged to drop off non-perishable food, water bottles, clothing, blankets, bedding, personal hygiene items, diapers, baby formula, first aid kits, prescription medications, N95 masks, tents, sleeping bags, monetary donations, gift cards, pet food, and other pet items. Financing arranged for acquisition of Mission Valley multifamily project
Impact Housing and Verbena Road Holdings have secured $112.2 million in financing for the acquisition of Mission Gorge, a modular multifamily development at 6171 Mission Gorge Rd. in Mission Valley. The financing was arranged by JLL Capital Markets and Impact Housing.
The community will feature a mix of studios and one-bedroom units that will all be affordable to San Diego’s workforce and specifically to those qualifying as low-income, earning at or below 80% of the area median income. The homes are equipped with quartz countertops, appliances, wall dividers with built-in storage, and recessed lighting with dimmer switches. Community amenities include lounge space, a 4,150-square-foot roof deck, a fully equipped fitness center, coworking space, ground floor retail and washer and dryer facilities.
JLL Capital Market’s Debt Advisory team representing the borrower (Impact Housing and Verbena Road Holdings) was led by executive managing director Charles Halladay, Associate Joseph Choi and analyst Will Bond.
Tickets on sale for San Diego FC
San Diego FC (SDFC) announced that single-match tickets for the 2025 MLS Regular Season and the Club’s exhibition matches against Club América and Xolos at Snapdragon Stadium are now on sale to the general public. Fans can purchase their single-match tickets now at sandiegofc.com/tickets.
SDFC will celebrate their inaugural home match, presented by DIRECTV, by hosting St. Louis CITY SC at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. PT. Prior to the Club’s first-ever home match, SDFC will kick off the Club’s inaugural MLS campaign against the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park during the opening weekend of 2025 MLS action on Sunday, Feb. 23. Lunar New Year celebration
Mission Valley, an open-air shopping center, invites guests to its first-ever Lunar New Year celebration event packed with fun activities for the whole family on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Nordstrom Rack Court. The event will feature an exciting Lion and Dragon Dance performance by Southern Sea Dragon and Lion Dance Association and live musical performances. Guests can explore culture and traditions at SDSU’s Chinese Cultural Center booth, enjoy delicious samples and goodies from Panda Express and participate in fun crafts for the whole family, including face painting (while supplies last). Trinity Theatre Co. kicks off season with Romeo and Juliet adaptation
Trinity Theatre Company kicks off their 13th Grown Up Stage (GUS) season under the guidance of Artistic Director, Sean Boyd with “The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet” by Peter Bloedel directed by Vivian White. White shared, “‘The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet’ is a delightfully playful adaptation that highlights the lovers’ youthful ignorance in a way we can all relate to. I am a huge Shakespeare nerd and the process of directing a show that makes his stories more accessible to modern audiences has been a joy. The cast and creative team are thrilled to share their work and bring some laughter to the San Diego community.”
