Have you driven on Navajo Road lately, particularly between Margerum Avenue and Park Ridge Boulevard? A much smoother ride for some of it, and more road improvements on Navajo are on the way.
On Saturday, Feb. 10, the Dog Park in Allied Gardens opens thanks to the efforts of dog owners in the community and Councilmember Raul Campillo.
Bob Hickman, chair of the FODC Neighborhood Watch Committee announced several new Neighborhood Watch signs have been posted including one at Helena and Arno as well as at Romany and Rockhurst.
On Feb. 15, Bob will be meeting with Officer Robert Raynor, the police Community Relations representative for our area to discuss establishing new Neighborhood Watches in Del Cerro.
It has been seven years since a survey was sent to the property owners in Del Cerro by the City of San Diego to determine what the main concerns were on public property.
Because it has been such a long time, we will soon be sending a letter to every property owner requesting the recipient respond to an online survey to determine what the current and primary concerns are in Del Cerro for maintaining and improving public property such as medians, parks, open space, community identity signs and rights of way in Del Cerro.
As of the writing of this article, there is not an update regarding the status of the All Peoples Church project following the no vote by the San Diego City Council on Jan. 9.
The Allied Gardens and the San Carlos Recreation Centers are each having a Spring Egg Hunt.
The Allied Gardens event will be on Saturday, March 23 and the San Carlos event is March 30. For more information go to San Diego.gov. Then go to the search box and enter the name of the recreation center.
