
There are plenty of interesting events planned the next few weeks and into February at San Carlos Library.
Dana Law will present Adventures on the Pacific Crest Trail and Beyond on Friday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m.
He hiked 2,650 miles from the Mexico border to Canada in 31 sections over 13 years. He will share his incredible adventures, the beautiful sights, and the mishaps that happened along the way. He will also offer advice to those seeking to tackle the trail and information about his current endeavor, hiking the Arizona Trail.
Author, Jennifer Coburn, will discuss her new book Girls of the Glimmer Factory on Friday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m.
The novel takes place during World War II at the German prison camp, Theresienstadt, where the Nazis try to convince the world that the Jewish people are living well. It is a poignant and inspiring tale of resistance, friendship, and the dangers of propaganda.
Artist, Drew Bandish, and Drew’s Art Pals will be displaying their artwork in the Winer Family Community Room from Jan. 8 to Feb. 3.
The show features colored pencil drawings, watercolor and oil paintings including Plein Air paintings of familiar San Diego locales. Come meet them at their artist reception on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 12 p.m.
Do Your Homework @ the Library provides free assistance with homework assignments. Our Homework Center is open to all K-8 students and Homework Coaches are available to guide and support student learning. The center is open on Monday to Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.
The San Carlos Friends of the Library Used Book Sale is held on the first Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Come buy books and support the Friends of the Library. Ask for a membership envelope from the book sale cashiers to join or donate to the san Carlos Friends of the Library. We are in need of your gently used book donations which are accepted any time during library open hours.
