Members of the Mission Trails community: now is your chance to show off your beautiful photos from your adventures at the park.
We are excited to announce the 2024 Mission Trails Photo Contest is open, and we can’t wait to see your unique perspective of our special gem, Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP).
This year, the MTRP Foundation will accept submissions until April 1.
Adults may submit one photo to the category of their choosing: Plants, Animals, Landscapes, or People. Teens and Kids 12 and younger can also submit one photo to an open category in their age group. This is an online only submission process and there is no entry fee. This contest is for amateur/non-professional photographers only.
Finalists will be selected through a judging process, and those photos will be on view at the Visitor Center from May 23 – July 7, 2024. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. The event will be free and open to the community, and registration is requested at mtrp.org/photocontest.
If you have any questions about the contest, you can email me at [email protected].
Another way to engage with the park is by attending an upcoming lecture, The “Re-wild” Garden Concept: A Case History with Mike Evans on Thursday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m.
Mike Evans is the founder of Tree of Life Nursery (TOLN) in San Juan Capistrano and has produced and sold California native plants for 45 years. In his presentation, he will discuss what it means to build a natural garden that is beautiful, sustainable, and functional, and the steps in doing so. Evans last presented in 2019 and the event sold out so get your tickets soon!
Register for the event through the Mission Trails website at www.mtrp.org/programs.
