
Twenty-three players from the Angelo State University Rams football team, including Granite Hills High product Zachary Burton of San Diego, have earned 2024 Lone Star Conference postseason honors after the Rams went undefeated during the conference season and won the LSC championship.
Highlighting the ASU honors are:
- Junior quarterback Braeden Fuller of Floresville – J.W. Rollins Award as LSC Offensive Player of the Year
- Senior defensive end Owen Seaver of Lampasas – LSC Defensive Lineman of the Year
- Senior corner back Andrew Pitts of McKinney – LSC Defensive Back of the Year
- Senior linebacker Eric Rascoe of San Antonio – LSC co-Linebacker of the Year.
All four were also named to the All-LSC first team, along with 10 teammates:
- Junior offensive lineman Noah Plsek of West
- Grad student offensive lineman Jacob Long of Waco
- Junior offensive lineman Connor Fisher of Willis
- Senior kicker Bradley Larson of Prosper
- Senior linebacker Kenton Allen of Riverside, Calif.
- Senior safety Jordan McKinney of Waco
- Senior defensive back Stephen Woods of Richmond
- Senior punter Cade Fuller of Floresville
- Senior defensive specialist Connor McDowell of La Vernia
- Senior all-purpose player Zorhan Rideaux of Houston
Rideaux also made the All-LSC second team as a wide receiver. Also earning second-team honors for the Rams are:
- Senior defensive end Dylan Neeley of San Mateo, Calif.
- Junior corner back Jatavian Neal of Port Arthur
- Junior safety Xavier Walton of San Antonio
Rams earning All-LSC honorable mention include:
- Junior center Dalton Perry of Poth
- Sophomore tight end Alex Wyatt of Helotes
- Junior wide receiver Zakelious “Kel” Williams of Carthage
- Junior wide receiver Kyle Bradford of Prosper
- Junior defensive tackle Zach Burton of San Diego, Calif.
- Junior defensive end Kriovanni Johnson of San Antonio
Rams head coach Jeff Girsch was named the LSC Coach of the Year. The No. 16 Rams sit at 9-2 overall and 9-0 in the LSC.
They will host Bemidji State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs on Saturday afternoon.
