United States volleyball star Kerri Walsh Jennings is set to host the brand reveal (team name and logo) for San Diego’s Pro Volleyball Federation team alongside general manager Jeremy Waller on Nov. 9. at The Skybox in downtown San Diego.
Pro Volleyball Federation is the premier women’s professional volleyball league in North America. It boasts teams from coast to coast with San Diego being home to one of seven teams in the league for 2024. In addition to San Diego, Pro Volleyball Federation boasts teams in Atlanta, Columbus, Ohio, Grand Rapids, Mich., Omaha, Neb., Orlando, Fla., and Las Vegas.
The Pro Volleyball Federation will launch its inaugural season in January 2024 with world-class players and coaches. League matches will be played at a major-league level in marquee arenas with elite athletes who, for the first time, have an opportunity to be paid a living wage while playing professionally without leaving the country.
Walsh Jennings is also an equity holder in the Pro Volleyball Federation. She stands alongside Super Bowl and Pro Bowl quarterback Joe Burrow, as well as his parents Jimmy and Robin Burrow. The Grand Rapids franchise is owned and operated by Dan DeVos, chairman of the Orlando Magic, while the Omaha team is owned in part by global entertainment superstar Jason Derulo. In addition, two legends of the sport – former USA Volleyball board chair Dr. Cecile Reynaud and former Olympian Laurie Corbelli – are also intimately involved with the League. The Pro Volleyball Federation is led by CEO Jen Spicher.
The San Diego team has landed a star-studded lineup with many well-known players from across the globe. Seasoned professionals who played in numerous countries such as August Raskie, Ronika Stone, Jhenna Gabriel, Hannah Tapp, and Nootsara TomKom will take their talents to the newest stage of volleyball in America’s Finest City. Former collegiate stars like Hana Lishman, Willow Johnson, Katie Lukes, Grace Loberg, and Tarah Wylie will also showcase their skills as a part of the team. San Diego rounds out their impressive lineup with additional big names like Shara Venegas, Genesis Collazo, and Nia Robinson Parker.
