Thomas Melville

Editor in Chief Thomas Melville is the editor of La Jolla Village News, Beach & Bay Press, and Peninsula Beacon newspapers as well as sdnews.com. Melville, a New York native, is an award-winning journalist who has worked for national and regional magazines, and daily and weekly newspapers for more than 20 years from New York to North Carolina to Maryland, and now California. He has covered the Carolina Hurricanes and Carolina Courage professional sports teams as well as college and high school athletics during his career. He was an editorial consultant for a successful start-up weekly newspaper in Bethany Beach, Del., and then became a minority owner and editor of a weekly newspaper he helped create in Ocean City, Md., before moving to San Diego.
