The City of Santee has received the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“Transparency is important to the City of Santee,” stated Finance Director and City Treasurer Heather Jennings. “The Finance Department strives to carry out our fiscal responsibilities with accountability, professionalism, and integrity. We appreciate the acknowledgement for all the hard work that goes into the preparation of the ACFR.”

The City’s report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
