Residents from Talmadge, Alvarado Estates, Kensington, El Cerrito, College Area and other communities will present their first responders with giant “thank you” cards and charitable contributions this Tuesday morning (Nov. 26) for their selfless — and successful — effort to save lives and property during the Oct. 31 “Montezuma Fire.”
The event will be held at 4700 Miracle Drive (cul-de-sac) in Talmadge beginning at 9 a.m.
Among those expected to attend are San Diego Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Dan Eddy, San Diego Police Department Chief Scott Wahl, and first responder crews and officers.
In a communal show of thanks and support, neighborhood organizers will deliver brief and heartfelt “thank yous” to police and fire crews who were able to quickly and successfully douse the flames, ensuring the safety of residents affected by the wildfire.
