Slater’s 50/50 announced a celebration of its 15th anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 8. The block party celebration will be from 2-5 p.m. at Slater’s 50/50 in Liberty Station. This event brings together local culinary icons, influencers, media stars, and food lovers for an afternoon of epic burger battles, live entertainment, interactive games, food and drinks, and enormous prizes.
This isn’t just a celebration of 15 years of innovation — it’s the return of the “Design It” menu and the debut of Slater’s new 50/50 smashburger blends: 50/50 Beef/Bacon, Beef/Chorizo, and Beef/Italian Sausage.
The battle for burger brilliance, hosted by Troy Johnson, renowned food critic, TV personality, and publisher of San Diego Magazine, will highlight the “Design It” Burger Showdown, which allows guests to build their ultimate burger creations.
Local favorites like Blaze 619, Le Parfait Paris, Not Your Nonna’s, Randy’s Donuts, Stone Brewing, and Taqueria Revolution will showcase their creativity, vying for the title of best burger creation. A panel of celebrity judges — Sam the Cooking Guy, Scott Slater (founder, Slater’s 50/50), Arianna Cohen (CBS 8), and Heather Lake (FOX5) — will evaluate each entry based on creativity, flavor, and presentation. Johnson will crown the top winner after tasting the top two contenders.
Admission: Open to the public, RSVP/advanced ticket purchase encouraged.
