
LET THE GAMES BEGIN
Chargers defensive end Igor Olshansky is joined by Maccabi Games participants (from left) Emma Tuttleman, Jordan Capon and Sofia Gross Sept. 25 at the JCC, 4126 Executive Drive, to announce that next year’s Maccabi Games will be held in San Diego.
Olshansky played basketball in the 1996-’97 games as a Bay Area high school student and won gold.
Scripps Ranch tackles UC
University City High suffered a 56-22 defeat at the hands of host Scripps Ranch last Friday in local scholastic football action.
For UC, Travis Parkyn scored on runs of 2 and 4 yards, Marcus Gibson caught a 24-yard pass from Skyler Dougherty and Kyle Berner added a 34-yard field goal.
La Jolla High had the weekend off. The Vikings return to action this Friday when they meet Lincoln High.
La Jolla Country Day School also had a bye last weekend. The Torreys travel to Tri-City Christian this week.
