An event for everyone, at all fitness levels, the Hit the Trails Hike-a-Thon for Mission Trails has a common objective: to raise funds and support the park we love.
Now is your opportunity to leverage this peer-to-peer fundraiser to support Mission Trails and raise funds for trail maintenance, youth education programs, and other programs at the park.
Registration is open and will be throughout the hike-a-thon, and activity tracking takes place from Oct. 15 to Jan. 15, 2025, for those tracking their treks, at the park or even in the neighborhood. However, you can also join the effort to raise funds for the park by seeking one-time instead of pledge-per-mile donations from your network and can also make a direct donation to the event which has a $100,000 goal.
Bryan Knox (pictured with his son), a San Diegan and supporter of Mission Trails, says he joined the Hit the Trails Hike-a-Thon for Mission Trails because the park is one of his “happy places on this planet.” He tries to hike at Mission Trails every weekend as his way of appreciating nature. Bryan says, “This opportunity to give back just made sense to me and will give me even more reasons to hike at MTRP!”
You too can join in on the fun.
Register today and invite your family and friends to support your effort by making one-time or pledge-per-mile donations. Earn gifts at fundraising milestones, and prizes will be awarded for most miles and most funds raised in individual and team categories.

Get in the holiday spirit on Nov. 9
Can you hear the jangle of bells approaching? Do you want to support independent craftspeople and find special, one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season?
Then save the date for the upcoming Holiday Marketplace at Mission Trails on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As in previous years, the MTRP Visitor Center will be transformed into a festive marketplace with unique gifts by local makers. A portion of sales will benefit the nonprofit Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation, dedicated to supporting the park. Who doesn’t love a good shopping day that also gives back? We know we do.
