THE LOT, a luxury lifestyle entertainment company, announced its second location at Liberty Station in Point Loma will open to the public on Thursday, May 5, providing a luxurious, comfortable dining, drinking and cinema going experience.
“THE LOT Liberty Station will provide guests with the utmost in service, high-quality dining and cinema experience, with our signature luxury leather theater recliners; a social cocktail scene and fantastic breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-theater dining options – all with unique elements that pay homage to the building’s original function as the Naval Training Center’s epicenter of military troop training and entertainment,” said Adolfo Fastlicht, chief executive officer at THE LOT.
The new venture, located at 2620 Truxtun Road, occupies the former building No. 35, previously known as LUCE Auditorium, originally a 2,200-seat theater and equipped with CinemaScope (a lens series used from 1953 to 1967 for shooting widescreen movies; the creation of which marked the beginning of modern widescreen movie projection), a projector and screen where military training features and movies were shown. The cinema’s design preserves the building’s original oak stage and exposed concrete proscenium, where the curtains once hung. Created to honor the past, as well as current, leading-edge design, the cinema also features a completely glass-enclosed café, bar and restaurant space that lends itself to an eclectic balance of reinvented use in a rehabilitated historic building.
The restaurant will feature standout breakfast entrée selections including an open-face sandwich with prosciutto and arugula and “killer” chilaquiles. Created by chef Matt Sramek, the lunch and dinner menus will focus on sharable plates, fresh salads and hearth oven-baked flatbreads with Mediterranean, Italian, French and Mexican influences; plus a wide and dynamic selection of European-influenced dishes that spotlight the finest offerings of both land and sea. The restaurant will also boast creative and intricate desserts by pastry chef Alejandra Pitashny. Full restaurant and café menus are available for enjoyment in the restaurant, café and outdoor patio.
The venue is set to open with a lineup of box-office hit movies, kicking off with the launch of Marvel Comics’ “Captain America: Civil War.”
