On Friday, Jan. 31, SeaWorld San Diego’s Rescue Team returned two sea lions to the ocean at Camp Pendleton’s training beach after successful rehabilitation. This return marks San Diego County’s first sea lion return of 2025.
Two female sea lions, an adult and a pup, both rescued and rehabilitated by SeaWorld’s Rescue Team in December 2024, found their way back into the ocean. Camp Pendleton’s training beaches, which are off-limits to the public, offer an ideal undisturbed setting for the sea lions to safely return to their natural habitat.
This event highlighted the successful animal rescue, rehabilitation, and return efforts of SeaWorld San Diego’s rescue program, as well as ongoing environmental conservation initiatives led by Camp Pendleton.
