Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is celebrating its 15th anniversary by bringing light to one of San Diego’s most prevalent issues: food insecurity.
The luxury resort recently announced that it was partnering with Feeding San Diego, a nonprofit organization that provides hunger-relief programs to 63,000 local children, families, and seniors every week. For the entire month of June, Estancia La Jolla will add a $1.50 donation to all lunch and dinner diner checks at the hotel’s Mustang and Burros restaurant. It’s a move that, according to Estancia La Jolla’s marketing manager Sarah Abelsohn, both highlights the resort’s milestone and brings awareness to an important cause.
It is the first time Estancia La Jolla has partnered with Feeding San Diego.
“It’s a really great anniversary to celebrate, and it happened to fall in the month of June which is also national Hunger Awareness Month,” Abelsohn said. “So we felt that since we have so many restaurants on property that it would be a great opportunity to shine a light on a community issue.”
In addition to the donation, Estancia La Jolla has other promotions to celebrate the anniversary. The “Estancia Experience” cocktail (made with You & Yours Sunday Gin, lime juice and a basil syrup infusion) and a limited-time anniversary massage and facial called the “Estancia Glow” will be available for during June. Guests can also enjoy 15 percent off any hotel bookings.
“To make it to 15 years is pretty great, especially in the hospitality industry,” she said. “In San Diego, there are so many hotels always popping up, so I think it is a true testament to our service. We always talk about what is the most pertinent thing that we can give our guests, and it’s really making their time valuable because time is so limited these days and we all have so much going on. If a guest chooses to come here and gives up their precious time, we want to make sure everything is outstanding.”
And because so many residents use Estancia La Jolla’s spa facilities and come to the resort’s events, giving back to the neighborhood is just as essential.
“It’s really important to stand in solidarity,” Abelsohn said. “We feel it’s our responsibility to be great stewards to our community.”
