The Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD) will host East County Health: A Community Conversation on Tuesday, April 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the District’s conference center in La Mesa (9001 Wakarusa Street) and online via Zoom.
This free event invites residents, local leaders, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders to discuss the preliminary findings of the Hospital Association of San Diego and Imperial Counties’ 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment and help shape future investments in community health across East County.
A welcome reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear key findings from the newly completed assessment, ask questions, and share their thoughts and ideas about the region’s most pressing health needs. Live Spanish and Arabic translation will be available. Additionally, refreshments will be provided and an opportunity drawing will take place for attendees.
“Community health is shaped by the voices of those who live, work, and seek care in our region,” said Aaron Byzak, Interim CEO of Grossmont Healthcare District. “This event is not just about sharing data — it’s about listening. We want to hear from you about what matters most when it comes to your health and your family’s well-being.”
Participants can attend in person or online, with RSVPs requested in advance. In-person attendees should email [email protected], while online attendees can register via the event link at bit.ly/GHDCommunityEvent.
“As an elected representative of this community, I believe our decisions must be grounded in the real needs and lived experiences of those we serve,” said Board Member Nardia Farjood. “That’s why we invite everyone — students, working families, seniors, and service providers — to join this conversation. Your voice is vital to building a healthier, more inclusive future for East County.”
This event is part of Grossmont Healthcare District’s continued mission to partner with the community in advancing health and wellness in East San Diego County.
