A Point Loma couple has created PIN Plus, a new platform connecting residents with property managers and vendors to access home services at group discounted rates.
PIN Plus is a subset of PIN Waste, a solid waste collection business started by Nichole and Josh Allen in 2008. Discussing the idea behind PIN Plus, marketing director Nichole Allen pointed out the key is “power in numbers,” which was developed originally as part of their business plan for solid waste collection.
“We’ve been working with homeowners associations and commercial property helping them out all over San Diego County since 2008,” she said. “We’ve helped commercial businesses and HOAs create efficient waste programs that are more cost-effective, while also implementing recycling at the highest level. It’s worked so well on the waste side, that we just saw an opportunity to bring in other home services.”
Allen said their company acts as a go-between negotiating with commercial businesses and HOAs to “get them (patrons) the best pricing while also implementing other services.”
With PIN Plus, patrons can access services such as solar panel cleaning, pest control, junk removal, window washing, dryer vent cleaning, and trash can cleaning.
“Our platform creates a true alliance between neighbors and trusted local vendors by negotiating rates, managing payments, and resolving issues with integrity and resourcefulness,” said PIN Plus adding, “If there’s a service you need that’s not listed, just let us know and we’ll help find a vendor.”
PIN Plus has allowed the Allens to “create the best experience for you” operating within the home services industry. Nichole Allen added, “At PIN Plus, we make it easy and affordable to care for your property by giving communities collective buying power and personalized service, all while supporting the community (Point Loma) we call home.”
This is how the PIN Plus system works:
– Create an account on mypinplus.com/point-loma;
– Claim your home address;
– Explore or sign up for ongoing events and services.
Once you log in and claim your address, 5% of every purchase will be donated to a local school of your choice. It’s an easy way to support the community while taking care of your home, states the company in promotional materials.
“We’re going after the home-maintenance industry,” noted Nichole Allen adding “We have an option on one-time demand services that are negotiated at discounted prices. We also have a subscription option, where you can sign up for something like pest control at cheaper prices.”
Added Nichole: “We can send a vendor out for a one-day event to go through a whole community and hit that whole area allowing residents to get good prices. It’s a huge part of what we offer the community.”
Allen added PIN Plus also handles customer service. “If there is a question about how to get something done, or if they’re unhappy about something, call us and we will take care of it,” said Nichole. She added, “This is something people need to get on board with. It’s fast. It’s easy, and it’s cost-effective. That’s what we’re doing to make the home services industry more affordable.”
