Mark your calendars for a summer of fun under the stars.
The City of La Mesa and La Mesa Park & Recreation foundation announce “Free Summer Movies in the Parks.”
From July through August, movies will be shown at various parks in La Mesa on a large inflatable screen. The series begins with a “dive-in movie” at the La Mesa Municipal Pool, allowing guests to swim while enjoying a popular film.
The movie schedule is as follows:
July 26 – Elemental – “Dive-in Movie” at the La Mesa Municipal Pool, 5100 Memorial Drive
(No food or drinks allowed on pool deck. Open swim begins at 6 p.m.)
Aug. 23 – Wish – Collier Park, 4401 Palm Avenue
Sept. 20 – Wonka – La Mesita Park, 8855 Dallas Street
Oct. 18 – Trolls Band Together – MacArthur Park, 4900 Memorial Drive.
The community is encouraged to bring a picnic, blanket, or lawn chair. Arrive early to enjoy games, grab a snack, and explore vendors before the movies begin 15 minutes after sunset.
The event is sponsored by Rose SD Realty, La Mesa Village Association, Pam Rader, Stormberg Orthodontics, and EDCO Disposal.
