Dear Editor:
As part of the plan there is an ecologically responsible goal to rehabilitate and restore native plant species. Does the master plan include addressing the issue of feral cats that have invaded the hillside section? The feral cats are non-native, predatory, a potential source of disease, and likely having a significant negative impact on the populations of native animal species in the park. I know that park visitors are feeding the cats potentially contributing to the problem. I would hope the presence of feral cats is viewed in a similar light as the problem of non-native, invasive plants species – they displace and disturb the natural ecosystem and requires a long-term solution.
