The San Diego Gaslamp Quarter presented the Gaslamp Pet Parade and Pups in the Pub Party Downtown on Dec. 14. This 16th annual event brought the holiday spirit into the historic neighborhood with pet owners and their furry friends decked out in their best holiday regalia. The crowd enjoyed vendors and free photos with Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Frosty the Snowman.

The event featured a mix of participants in the pet parade and the battle of the marching bands, along with enthusiastic spectators lining the sidewalks to cheer them on. CinnaBella was Grand Marshal and kicked off the parade.
This year saw a record number of dogs in attendance. Participants signed up for the pet contest, which awarded amazing prizes during a ceremony following the pet parade. The winners of this year’s costume contest were:

Best Parade Float Costume: Senorita Ruffelina Delicious Von Vicious with pet parent Jan Savage
Best Holiday Spirit: Moki with pet parent Sonja Wicker
Best Matching Costumes: Nicks with pet parent Stephanie Price

Most Outrageous Costume: Maisy and Moose with pet parent Kayla Jordan
Best Group Costume: Bailey, Milo, and Mr. BigFace with pet parent Travis Hitzler

After the prizes were handed out, the crowd adjourned to the Pups in the Pub Party at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter. There, attendees enjoyed holiday tunes, craft beers, games, and more.
