A woman has been ordered to stand trial as an accessory to murder in a case where she is suspected of being the getaway driver for someone who killed a man in a McDonald’s parking lot in the Midway District.
Four police detectives testified against Brittany Marie Wolf, 35, in a June preliminary hearing before San Diego Superior Court Evan Kirvin regarding the 2023 slaying of Joshua Goodman, 44, according to court records.
Armando Manuel Parras, 32, is charged with murder in the Aug. 30, 2023, fatal stabbing of Goodman on Midway Drive at 11:30 a.m. after Goodman got off his bicycle after arriving at the McDonald’s restaurant.
The lone charge against Wolf alleges she committed accessary after the fact that she had knowledge that Parras committed a felony and she harbored or concealed Parras so as to avoid his arrest.
The motive for the crime has not been revealed in court. Security camera footage showed Parras chasing Goodman in circles around the parking lot. Parras got out of the minivan and stabbed him multiple times. He got back into the minivan and left with Wolf allegedly as the driver.
The preliminary hearing for Parras is set for July 11 and he waived his right to have a speedy hearing. Wolf was not arrested until May, but she wanted a quicker hearing date, so it was held in June.
Parras met Wolf a few days before the murder, according to Deputy District Attorney Seralyn Fields. Parras was the driver of the minivan and was chasing Goodman into the McDonald’s parking lot, she said.
Parras asked Wolf to take the driver’s seat while Parras grabbed a knife and got out of the van. Wolf waited until Parras jumped back into the van before driving off as she acted as the getaway driver, said Fields.
Wolf remains free on a $20,000 bond and has pleaded not guilty. Parras has also pleaded not guilty and remains in the George Bailey Detention Facility without bail.
