The fourth annual Art in the Pines will be held May 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and May 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve just south of Torrey Pines Lodge. The free, two-day event features a judged plein-air contest; artists’ booths; food; live music; children’s activities; a raffle and silent auction; guided nature walks; tours of the historic lodge; and expert demonstrations in painting and basket weaving. Guests are encouraged to hike the reserve in the days leading up to the festival to observe artists at work.
