Monarch Arredon Contemporary Art and La Valencia Hotel will be presenting internationally renowned figurative painter Cathrine Edlinger-Kunze on Saturday, March 21, as part of a collaborative art program entitled “Love, Sex and Sensuality.” The event, complete with appetizers and wine, is open to the public and will be held at the Mediterranean Patio of La Valencia Hotel, 1132 Prospect St., from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with an artist’s talk at 6:30 p.m. Guests will be invited to join the artist after the event at Monarch Arredon Contemporary Art, 7629 Girard Ave., to view additional works by the artist. Born and raised in Germany, Edlinger-Kunze has currently settled in Sweden, where she works as a full-time artist. She has been exhibiting her work throughout Europe and the United States since 1985. This is the first time her work will have been shown at Monarch Arredon. Edlinger-Kunze says her work is all about life through the eyes of a woman… the fear, doubts, strength, love, yearning.” She works out her figures with charcoal and acrylics, fusing figurative with abstract. The exhibition continues at Monarch Arredon through April 15. For more information, contact Elsie Arredondo at (858) 454-1231 or [email protected] or visit our website at monarchfineart.com/.
