
ST. PAUL’S NAMES TWO PB RESIDENTS TO KEY POSTS St. Paul’s Senior Homes and Services has named Pacific Beach residents Tara Walsh as corporate controller and Justin Weber as its new executive director of residential services.
Walsh will direct the daily financial affairs of the organization under the supervision of the chief financial officer and prepare financial analyses of operations for the guidance of management. She will be responsible for the company’s financial budgets, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of periodic financial reports. In addition, Walsh will ensure compliance with all federal, state and local government and grantor financial reporting requirements and that the organization’s accounting policies and procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles. Previously, Walsh served as divisional controller, where she directed the daily financial affairs of the St. Paul’s home and community-based services division under the supervision of the chief financial officer and prepared financial analyses of operations. She was responsible for the division’s financial budgets, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records and the preparation of periodic financial reports.
She ensured organizational compliance will all federal, state and local government and grantor financial reporting requirements. Walsh earned her MBA from San Diego State University and received her bachelor’s degree in communications studies from California State University, Long Beach. A certified public accountant (CPA), Walsh is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. She is a 2015 fellow for the Leadin Age national leadership program.
Meanwhile, Weber will assume responsibility for oversight, compliance and overall resident, family and staff satisfaction in all of St. Paul’s residential communities (Manor, Villa, McColl Health Center and, subsequently, Plaza when it opens). Prior to his appointment to this position, Weber held the positions of Villa administrator at St. Paul’s and previously as marketing and admissions director at St. Paul’s, where he was responsible for the marketing and admissions process in all the organization’s residential communities.
“I’m very honored to be able to continue to serve the residents, families and staff of St. Paul’s Manor, Villa and McColl Health Center,” said Weber, “and will continue to do everything in my power to ensure we operate in the most efficient and ethical manner possible with a primary focus on the seniors we serve.”
Weber earned his bachelor of arts degree in advertising from Northern Arizona University and certification in nonprofit management from Chapman University. He has served on the board of directors of Leading Age California and board of directors of Nonprofit Management Solutions. He is a youth soccer coach for Pacific Youth Soccer League and was presented with the Extraordinary Commitment Award, Leading Age California. He is a past Fellow in Leading Age Leadership Academy and past coach for Leading Age California Emerge leadership program.
