With the loss, the Pointers finished 17-5 overall, a reversal of last year’s 5-17 record. Senior Ethan Denney scored four goals in the season finale giving him 43 for the year. Leading scorer and junior Andrew Bockstahler had a pair to finish with a team-leading 104 while his brother A.J., a freshman, also had a pair to finish with 53.

Head coach Brandon Huff, assisted by Andrew Wright, was happy with his team’s season. “I thought we played well,” Huff said. “To be here is a big step for us. It’s our first winning season in four years and to be in this situation and have this experience sets us up for next year.”
Huff noted his players were up at 4:30 a.m. for practices at the Peninsula YMCA. Huff praised his seniors who took important guidance and leadership roles on the team, showing underclassmen what it means to be a Pointer. The seniors were freshmen when Huff and Wright took over the program four years ago. The Bockstahler brothers lead those returning next year along with goaltender Beckett Cahill and center defender Bryce Fuller.
