TechOutfitters, at 1302 Rosecrans St., opened last September as a full service coffee bar and tech store that also provides phone repair at the corner of Dickens and Rosecrans in Point Loma Village.
Now the coffee side of TechOutfitters is claiming a name of its own: Point Loma Coffee. It staged a grand (re)opening July 15 as part of a rebranding campaign.
“Point Loma Coffee serves San Diego’s best craft-roasted coffees,” explained co-owner Susan Schedel. “We serve and sell coffee beans from local roasters including Bird Rock, James Coffee, Manzanita, Café Virtuoso, Make Good Coffee, Revolution Roasters, Swell Coffee Co. and Sons of Liberty.”
The staff on the TechOutfitters side provides in-house service and repair for phones, tablets and computers. They stock gift items and the latest in tech gadgets, often before national retailers.
Schedel said waterproof cases are quite popular. “Along with device repairs, we see that outdated digital devices are recycled properly.”
“Point Loma is a unique and close-knit community and we feel lucky to live and give back here,” said co-owner Koren Lilburn. “We are a sponsor for a robotics team (Rise of the Hephaestus, team 4216) and were thrilled when they qualified for the FIRST World Championship – and then they won!”
TechOutfitters is proud to support the Point Loma High School music program, the San Diego Imperial Council Venture Crew 500 and the Point Loma Association.
“Our focus on local roasters, featured in daily rotations, is what makes Point Loma Coffee so different,” said manager Jane Wardlaw.
