The San Diego Strike Force (1-7) will head to Tucson this weekend to take on the Sugar Skulls (3- 5) 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at Tucson Arena. The game will be streamed live on the IFL’s YouTube page. The San Diego Strike Force will enter this weekend coming off a Week 10 bye after previously falling to the Arizona Rattlers 52-14 in Week 9 at home. Saturday will be the third all-time meeting between the two teams, with Tucson having won the previous two matchups. The Sugar Skulls have the IFL’s top-ranked total offense (275.3 ypg) and rush offense (110.3 ypg). San Diego has the IFL’s second-ranked passing offense (174.4 ypg), while Tucson ranks last in pass defense (183.9 ypg). In the team’s last game, Strike Force quarterback Jihad Vercher went 15-30 for 127 yards in the air and one touchdown. San Diego wide receiver Marques Rodgers had eight rushing yards on three carries and one touchdown. Rodgers also caught eight passes for 74 yards. He ranks third in the IFL in receiving yards (513) and leads the IFL in all-purpose yards (1,303). Wide receiver Victor Dean Jr. caught a 10-yard touchdown pass in the game. Tucson lost their last game to the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 10 by a final score of 61-58. Sugar Skulls running back Mike Jones rushed for 109 yards, and wide receiver Shaq Curenton had 110 receiving yards. Both scored three touchdowns in the loss. Jones ranks third in the IFL in rushing yards (430) and is tied for third in rush touchdowns (14).
