Santee City Council has approved a pilot program to create off-leash dog-run areas in three parks. The earliest the program could go into effect is late June. If successful, the program would become permanent after a year. Where: Under the program, dogs would be allowed to run off-leash at Woodglen Vista, Mast and Big Rock parks at certain times. When: At Woodglen Vista, an off-leash dog-run area would be available from Dec. 1 to Aug. 15 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from dawn to 8 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. or dusk, whichever comes first. A different off-leash area at the park would be available from Aug. 16 to Nov. 30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from dawn to 8 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. or dusk, whichever comes first. At Mast Park, the off-leash area would be available every day from dawn to 8 a.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. or dusk, whichever comes first. At Big Rock Park, the area would be open Monday through Friday from dawn to 8 a.m.
