OCEAN BEACH — SeaWorld’s Animal Awareness Team visited Ocean Beach Elementary School on Wednesday, Oct. 20. SeaWorld educators discussed with the nearly 400 students misconceptions about sharks while showing the schoolchildren different shark jaws so they could compare and contrast sizes. Educators also gave a live animal presentation, which included a legless lizard, an owl and an alligator. The school presentation is all part of “SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular.” During the month of October, educators visited a variety of area schools to dispel myths about many of its misunderstood animals. “SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktactular,” an ocean inspired Halloween event, begin at 1 p.m. on weekends through Oct. 31.
