“Positive Phee” is the brainchild of Sophie Hague (above). She creates sustainable fashion events named Sip & Style. The most recent one was on March 23 at the Bivouac Adventure Lodge in North Park. Guest shopped pre-curated fashion items, including clothing, shoes, and accessories. With the price of admission, each guest received a drink and a shopping bag to fill with as many items as they could put into the bag.
Hague organizes three of these events each year at different locations. This one took place at Bivouac Adventure Lodge and general store located next to Bivouac’s Taproom. The Lodge is a yurt-inspired space that features an all-day café and a grand cider-tasting bar. They offer a variety of global and house-made ciders.

After earning a degree in fashion business, Hague spent 10 years in London working with the fashion and lingerie industries. In 2020, she moved to San Diego and launched these circular fashion events. Her goal was to use fashion as a way to empower women. By hosting eco-friendly pop-up events like Sip & Style, she helps keep fashion out of the landfills and gives them a second life.
Zero Waste San Diego was created by Laura Antony nine years ago. Hague joined the team as event manager last year. Zero Waste San Diego hosts many Fixit Clinics throughout the year, where people can learn to redesign or repair clothing, electronics, appliances, and other non-working items. They provide workspace and guidance, but you need to pre-register. They will let you know in advance if you need to bring any supplies for your repairs. The most recent Fixit Clinic was at the Carlsbad City Library, and upcoming clinics will be in Chula Vista, La Mesa, Borrego Springs, and Pacific Highlands.
Hague will host an upcycled fashion show at the Bountiful Earth Benefit on April 12: Learn more at thebountifulbag.com/bountiful-earth. She also offers personal styling services. You can make an appointment via Instagram @positive_phee.
Ready to have some fun? Come fill a bag with pre-loved fashion items at the next Sip & Style on Sunday, July 13, at Pure Project, North Park, and be a part of the circular fashion community. For more information, visit poitivephee.com.
