Stephen Francis Gill of Ocean Beach left this world to meet his heavenly Father on Aug. 3, 2008.
Born Sept. 16, 1958, in Henderson, Nev., he was the son of Elvis Gill and Emma LaRae Mulliner.
He is survived by sisters and family, Judi and Steve Haynes of Camano Island and Mary and John Dressor of Ocean Beach; nephew, Aaron Dressor of Ocean Beach, as well as nine other nephews and nieces, two aunts, Gwen Harwood of Henderson, Nev., Ruth Fortenberry of Hereford, Texas; numerous cousins and an abundance of friends who knew and loved him well.
He was a member of the Ocean Beach Geriatric Surf Club & Precision Marching Surfboard Drill Team and Gidget Patrol and a local volunteer for almost every Ocean Beach event throughout the year for the OB Merchants Association and the OB Town Council.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Point Loma Masonic Center at 1711 Sunset Cliffs Blvd. in Ocean Beach from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a sunset farewell at the beach at the end of Saratoga Avenue.
This is a casual event, and all friends are welcome to join us and share memories of him at the gathering.
