The public and active duty military are invited to play in the City of Santee’s Heroes Golf Classic Tournament.
This event is happening Friday, May 31, at Carlton Oaks Golf Course, a par 72 course, located at 9200 Inwood Drive, Santee, with a check-in time of 7 a.m. and shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The tournament is a four-player best ball scramble format and all funds raised will support the City of Santee’s adopted military members’ annual birthday ball. Proceeds will go toward costs such as child care at the ball and subsidized costs for ball attendees, so that every military member can afford to attend. The annual birthday ball is a tradition and highlight event of the year for active duty military and the City of Santee wishes to increase access to this event for its adopted military members.
The tournament is a great opportunity for players to meet some local military members and have fun in the sun for a great cause. Tickets are offered at $125 for the public, $75 for active duty, and there is also an option to sponsor an active duty player for $75. At the event, players will receive a breakfast burrito, lunch, two drink tickets, golf cart and range balls, tickets to an opportunity drawing, giveaway items and opportunities to participate in contests.
“This golf tournament is a great way for our patriotic Santee community and military supporters throughout San Diego to show support for our local heroes,” said Marlene Best, city manager.
Local businesses are welcome to support their local military unit by sponsoring a hole or providing items for opportunity drawings.
With an attendance of up to 136 players, sponsors will have opportunities to post branded signage, interface with the players, and pass out merchandise. Prospective sponsors are encouraged to reach out to Vanessa Tang, marketing specialist II at [email protected] or (619) 258-4100 x162 for more information.
