More than 50 Uptown restaurants will offer bites and sips at the 10th annual Taste of Hillcrest, Sat., April 17, from noon-4 p.m.
“A lot of people come to Hillcrest and say, ‘There are so many great restaurants, I wish I could try them all.’ Well, on that day you can,” said Ben Nicholls, executive director of the Hillcrest Business Improvement Association.
Ticket-holders can visit as many participating eateries as they want during the self-guided event, walking or using the free shuttle that will start from the Hillcrest BIA’s offices in the California Bank and Trust building at the corner of 5th Avenue and Pennsylvania Street.
Some of the day’s highlights include organic pizza at Pizza Fusion, barbecue chicken and Ahi tuna poke at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, sangria and mini sushi at Bamboo Lounge & Ami Sushi and mango chicken with Thai basil curry at Bangkok Thai Bistro. Those with a sweet tooth can check out Taste of Italy’s tiramisu, Brian’s American Eatery’s peppermint cake and café mocha or Babycakes’ mini cupcakes. Still hungry? There are about 40 other restaurants to explore.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 the day of the event. Each ticket purchase comes with a “Taste of Hillcrest Recipe Book,” which contains recipes for the day’s samplings. For tickets, go to fabuloushillcrest.com or call 233-5008.
