A new era of hospitality is coming to San Diego with the rebranding of the Four Points by Sheraton San Diego Downtown Little Italy into The Dextro Hotel, part of the Best Western Premier Collection.
Drawing inspiration from the city’s rich history and architectural landmarks, The Dextro Hotel will reportedly redefine the guest experience with its mid-century modern design, panoramic 360-degree views, and a name steeped in significance.
The name “Dextro” pays homage to the building’s unique architecture, taking a cue from the Spanish word dextrorso, meaning “clockwise.” This nod reflects both the hotel’s design and its forward-moving spirit.
Located on the edge of downtown San Diego, The Dextro Hotel places guests within easy reach of the city’s top attractions and businesses, including Petco Park, the San Diego Zoo and just one mile from Balboa Park. From the dynamic energy of Little Italy to the scenic waterfront and cultural landmarks, the hotel’s prime location ensures travelers can experience the best of San Diego.
“The Dextro Hotel represents a thrilling new chapter for our team and our guests,” shared Michael Murrell, general manager of The Dextro. “By embracing San Diego’s rich architectural and cultural history, we’re creating a space that is both inspiring and welcoming. We look forward to offering an elevated experience that reflects the vibrant spirit of our city.”
The hotel boasts 220 well-appointed guestrooms, each designed to provide comfort and style and over 2,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Guests can enjoy amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, mini-refrigerators, a well-equipped fitness center and an outdoor pool. As part of this rebrand, the hotel will also introduce Ottutto, a new culinary destination opening later this year.
The Dextro Hotel is managed by Remington Hospitality. Located at 1617 1st Avenue, The Dextro Hotel is just minutes from San Diego International Airport and within walking distance to downtown San Diego.
