A CIF championship team, a league champion team, and a league Player of the Year topped the winter sports season at Point Loma High.
Once again, it was the boys soccer team, peaking at just the right time under head coach Elliott Savitz, that brought another CIF championship banner to the Pointer campus. The team defeated Calexico High in penalty kicks to win the Div. I trophy.
Senior soccer captain Fin Rohnow was the only Pointer athlete from seven teams named to the winter San Diego Section all-CIF list. A three-year varsity veteran, Rohnow appeared on the second team.
The Pointer girls water polo team took first place in the City League with a 7-1 record (15-13-1 overall). Senior Marina Jacoway was named Athlete of the Year.
