Tickets are on sale now for the Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter’s 16th annual Art Gala on Friday, May 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Paradise Point Resort & Spa, 1404 Vacation Road.
Paradise Point is a four-time host of the Gala, offering a lavish waterfront setting where attendees will enjoy a silent auction of artwork, surf gear, vacation packages, and other luxury items. Ticket holders will be able to participate in interactive art elements and watch live artwork being created. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in an exciting live auction for three hand-picked pieces of artwork. For a sneak peak at some of the items up for bid this year, check out the Art Gala blog. Musical entertainment will be provided by local artists, Lee Coulter and Josh Damigo.
General Admission tickets are $60 and include entry, food and drinks. Tickets can be purchased online here. This is a 21-plus event. Guests are encouraged to get their tickets early.
According to Chapter manager Mandy Sackett, “The Art Gala continues to attract new, diverse and talented artists each year. We are incredibly lucky to have a dedicated team of volunteers helping to plan and run the Art Gala again this year.”
The Art Gala remains one of the chapter’s largest fundraising events of the year, providing support for chapter’s programs aimed at protecting our region’s oceans, waves and beaches. Last year, over $36,000 was raised at the event with 400 guests in attendance – making it, once again, the most successful Gala in the chapter’s history.
These funds are used to support volunteer programs like Beach Cleanups, Rise Above Plastics, Hold On To Your Butt, No Border Sewage, Ocean Friendly Gardens, Know Your H2O, Beach Preservation, and the chapter’s newly launched Ocean Friendly Restaurant campaign, which will work with restaurants to reduce their plastic footprint. The protection of San Diego County’s oceans, waves and beaches would not be possible without the support of an extremely dedicated grassroots force of volunteers, and from events like the annual Art Gala – all in the name of keeping San Diego County’s 70 miles of coastline “America’s Finest.”
