The election is over. The citizens who cared enough for their city to vote have chosen a mayor. Let us hope the mayor (Jerry Sanders) will accept the offered hand of the loser, Steve Francis, to help the city go forward. Let us also hope that the City Council and all the elected city officials join with them.
Are they all big enough to let the slurs and innuendoes be forgotten and join hands for the good of our city? Mr. Francis must have a lot of good ideas to put forward or he wouldn’t have created a booming business.
It would be ideal if the mayor would host a party to exchange ideas and put forth an agenda as to what should be at the top of the list. Even if the expense of it would paid by the taxpayers, it would be well worth a try. I look forward to congratulating these fine men and women for their combined efforts to make San Diego a shining example as to what good elected officials can do.
