LA JOLLA — As of 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, police were directing traffic and city officials were cleaning up debris from a tree collapse on Girard Avenue at Kline Street. While the very large tree caused some damage, toppling on at least two parked cars, no one was injured. Claudine Musarra works at Ligne Roset, located at 7726 Girard Ave., right in front of the fallen tree. She said the incident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, and at about 11:30 there was still one car trapped under the tree. At least one other vehicle, she said, had been removed. “It’s huge,” said Musarra. “The street is completely covered.” A San Diego Police Department Northern Division official said there are no further details at this time.
