LA JOLLA — Two men allegedly burglarized the Apple store at University Towne Center, stealing about $13,000 worth of electronics in the early morning hours on Thursday, Dec. 9. Police said a witness alerted them that the two men, reported to be Hispanic and wearing hoodies and dark pants, had smashed the glass front doors of the store at 4505 La Jolla Village Drive and exited the mall through the east end. The two suspects have not yet been apprehended, according to police. Lt. Jim Filley said that the police presence has been boosted at the mall during opening hours to handle the increased number of shoppers during the holiday season.
