BALBOA PARK — The Women’s History Museum continues celebrating the 90th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920, which gave women the right to vote. On Thursday, Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. the fourth annual suffrage parade will take place in Balboa Park starting at the Kate Sessions statue on the west end of the Laurel Street Bridge. It will end at the Organ Pavilion, where a free concert will follow. The celebration will continue on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. at the Suffrage Ball. The event will take place at the Lafayette Hotel, 2223 El Cajon Blvd. The theme of the evening will be “Fabulous Forties.” There will be a costume contest for the best 1940s attire and the Sue Palmer Orchestra will provide music for USO-style dancing.
